Stansbury Named One of 40 Best MBA Professors Under 40

MIT Sloan Assistant Professor Anna Stansbury has been named to the “40-Under-40 Best MBA Professors” list for 2023 by Poets & Quants, an online publication focused on graduate business education. According to Poets & Quants, the publication received more than 1500 nominations of professors for this year’s “40-Under-40 Best MBA Professors” list, and nominees were judged on both teaching and research.

Stansbury, a labor economist who researches issues of inequality, power, and institutions in the labor market, is an assistant professor of Work and Organization Studies at MIT Sloan and  a member of the core faculty of the MIT Institute for Work and Employment Research (IWER). She won an Outstanding Teacher Award at MIT Sloan in 2022.  Stansbury, who earned her doctorate in economics from Harvard University in 2021, is also a nonresident senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics.

Poets & Quants’ profile of Stansbury includes a quote from Paula Santamaria-Missetzis, MIT Sloan MBA Class of 2023. “In her class, People & Profits, Anna expertly blends theory and practice to help us become principled, innovative leaders,” Santamaria-Missetzis observed. “In my opinion, it is a course that all MBA students should take.”
