About the MIT Executive MBA program
The MIT Executive MBA Program (EMBA) is an extraordinary opportunity for rising executives to challenge themselves and to challenge convention. The EMBA is built on MIT’s culture of rigor, inquiry, teamwork, and taps into deep roots in innovation, research, and management. The MIT Sloan School of Management has defined the science of management and has led innovations that have changed the face of business. MIT Sloan continues to be at the forefront of management education, empowering executives with a rigorous and data-driven approach to solving complex challenges and seizing strategic opportunities.
MIT Executive MBA students/working executives
The MIT Executive MBA Program boasts an inventive, driven, and diverse cohort. Each class is an experienced group comprised of EMBA students averaging 40 years of age and 17 years of work experience. These working executives will undertake a rigorous 20-month executive-schedule program. EMBA students (EMBAs) travel to campus 30 times in 20 months, while remaining actively engaged in their careers at the same time. The EMBAs learn while they work, and work while they learn. The curriculum is designed to build general management skills and a scientific approach to management, including:
- Global leadership
- Data-driven analytics
- Operations management
- System dynamics
- Innovation
- Entrepreneurship
Executive Labs
Aligned with MIT Sloan's mission, the EMBA strives to prepare students to address the world’s greatest challenges and equips them with the skills and tools to succeed. Each Executive Lab course focuses on a different aspect of that goal. The MIT Executive MBA Class of 2025 Action Learning lab classes will span January – April 2025, with March 17-21, 2025 set aside for concentrated field study. Most Executive Lab project teams normally expect to travel to locations outside of the U.S. MIT Sloan Action Learning labs will adhere to state, federal, and MIT guidelines regarding international and domestic travel.
