Wilmers Becomes Fourth IWER Faculty Member to Receive Award for Mentoring Graduate Students

MIT Sloan School of Management Associate Professor Nathan Wilmers is one of 23 members of the MIT faculty who recently received  MIT’s Committed to Caring award for 2023-25. The Committed to Caring program recognizes MIT faculty members who are exceptional mentors to graduate students; candidates for the award are nominated by graduate students.

Since the mentoring recognition program was launched in 2014, only 98 MIT faculty members have been named Committee to Caring honorees. (There are about 1089 members of the MIT faculty.)  Wilmers, who is the Sarofim Family Career Development Associate Professor and an Associate Professor of Work and Organization Studies at MIT Sloan School of Management, is the fourth member of the core faculty of the MIT Institute for Work and Employment Research (IWER) to achieve this recognition; he joins past Committed to Caring honorees Erin L. Kelly, Thomas Kochan, and Susan Silbey, all also of IWER.

MIT Sloan Professors Roberto Fernandez and Wanda Orlikowski, who are both IWER faculty affiliates, also received the Committed to Caring award for 2023-5. In addition, IWER faculty affiliates Kate Kellogg, David Autor, Amy Glasmeier, and Ben Schneider are past Committed to Caring honorees.
